João Santos Silva is the Chairman of EuroAgri FoodChain for EUREKA, an intergovernmental organisation for market-driven research and development. Silva obtained an MSc in Agronomy from the University of Lisbon before working as a member of the advisory board for the Alqueva water dam in Portugal. Now as the EuroAgri Portuguese representative for EUREKA, Silva audits publicly-funded technological projects. He has promoted several technological benchmarking activities and created an international network of contacts to review technological innovations in numerous sectors. In doing so, he has coordinated numerous international events, presenting turn-key innovations and promoting both technical and commercial innovations. Outside of EUREKA, Silva teaches at the University Of Lisbon School of Agronomy, specialising in the economy and Integrated Quality Management.
